A small-town character can be found among the stretching roadways of Hunting Valley. The village has a rural nature and sits between Cuyahoga and Geauga Counties. The neighborhood contains a portion of the Chagrin River Valley that feeds a dense collection of foliage throughout the region. Hunting Valley is dedicated to a secluded lifestyle and land conservation, covering eight square miles of rolling hills.

Driving along these scenic country roads, you'll see wooden split rail fences and open fields. In Hunting Valley, many residences are hidden behind privacy screens of trees that cover long driveways and generous setbacks. The village is home to several established mansions and luxury homes. Colonial Revivals are popular in this area, adding to the rustic impression of the neighborhood. You will also notice more modest structures that dot the streetscape. These remarkable estates will generally cost between $200 to $350 per square foot. And with many residences reaching over 5,000 square feet, homes here are typically priced in the multimillions. The homes in Hunting Valley are some of the most highly listed properties in Cuyahoga County.

The village is served by the Orange City School District, which earned an A rating on Niche. Youngsters may begin the school day at Moreland Hills Elementary. The Ohio Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports Network granted the public school a Gold Award. Ballard Brady Middle students can benefit from an array of clubs, a robust athletics department, and the newly updated resource lab. According to Niche, Orange High is ranked as the 5th best public high school in Cleveland. The secondary school offers over 25 extracurricular clubs and activities. The local schools sit side by side, allowing for a smooth drop-off and pick-up. The community also shares space with the University School campus, which provides an all-boys private education.

The community is shrouded in a symphony of birches, maples, and elm trees. So locals won't have to travel far to enjoy the great outdoors. A recent partnership between the village, Cuyahoga County Planning Commission and Bartlett Tree Service will enhance nearby land. If you're looking for organized fun outside the house, the area is home to Cleveland's only public polo field. The green space features a loop trail open to hikers and horse-trailer parking for equestrians heading south. The village is also wedged between Pepper Pike Club and The Club at Hillbrook, making this a prime location for avid golfers.

Hunting Valley is exclusively residential, but traveling west toward Chagrin Boulevard will lead you to grocery stores and retail plazas. Here you'll find the upscale Eton shopping district, which hosts a variety of dining spots. Mitchell's Fish Market sits among the shiny trappings of this commercial corridor. The restaurant serves fresh seafood and is a popular spot for happy hour. Realtor Daniel Perelman with Platinum Real Estate recommends the local steakhouse, ML Tavern. The old-fashioned wooden interior provides an elegant ambiance and polished entrees that ensure repeat visitors.

Hunting Valley has a private feel. Over the last few decades, the village collaborated with neighboring communities to preserve the Chagrin River watershed from further development. Additionally, smaller lots were prohibited, maintaining Hunting Valley's exclusive, small-town character. Located 15 miles from downtown, residents can enjoy the best of Cleveland while still having their own private oasis from the metro area.
