About Huntley, IL

About Huntley, IL

Huntley lies in Chicago's "Golden Corridor"

Huntley first made it onto the map as a small shipping hub on the northwest end of the Chicago area in the mid-19th century. The village’s downtown district holds true to its historic charm, but the humble town around it has blossomed into a sought-after suburb in Chicagoland’s Golden Corridor. Convenient connections to Illinois State Route 47 and Interstate 90 make commutes simple, while a mature home market and familiar shopping options ensure that life in town is equally convenient.

Huntley homes offer variety

Single-family properties make up the bulk of Huntley’s home stock, with most homes sitting within subdivisions. Wide residential streets and tree-lined sidewalks lend to the familial atmosphere between custom homes, classic Craftsman houses and ranch homes. Huntley’s median single-family price of $404,000 in 2024 sits above the state average for Illinois by about $100,000 but around the same level as the national average. "The housing landscape offers a diverse range, accommodating various budgets with a blend of newer and existing homes," says Kane County resident Jen Nardone, former Realtor with Keller Williams Success Realty. "This accessibility enhances the appeal of housing options in the area." New traditional townhomes and condos make up about a quarter of the current home market in Huntley. Most of these properties were built between the late 1980s and the 2020s, and many of the townhomes on the south end of the village are part of the Del Webb’s Sun City active adult community. The median townhome price is about $335,000.
