A nature-filled neighborhood close to Downtown Huntsville
A little over a mile from Downtown Huntsville lies the serene residential neighborhood of Blossomwood. Here, tree-lined streets feature stately homes fronted by carpet-like green lawns. In spring, baby blue hydrangeas and deep fuchsia azaleas bloom, and magnolias fill the air with a lemony aroma. The Monte Sano Mountain forms a backdrop, with walking trails shaded by a canopy of leaves. There's plenty of nature but it's not far to all the city's trendy bars and restaurants. “It’s a popular area in Huntsville,” says Ben Nemec, a Realtor with Keller Williams Huntsville. “Blossomwood is close to downtown and the homes aren’t cookie cutter like the new developments in the city.”
Diverse home styles next to Monte Sano Mountain
Fagan Creek snakes through the center of Blossomwood, weaving between gently curving residential streets. One of the neighborhood’s biggest draws is its diverse range of home styles. Georgian-style mansions, colonial estates and vernacular two-story homes sit along the edge of Monte Sano Mountain. Scattered throughout are Craftsman bungalows from the 1940s, ranch-style homes from the ‘60s and contemporary two-story townhomes, along with new construction featuring farmhouse-style architectures. Prices can range anywhere from $225,000 for a two-bedroom townhome to just over $1 million for a mountainside mansion, but most single-family homes here cost between $400,000 and $700,000. “Inventory remains low, and the demand remains steady, so the market is moving well," Nemec says. "Blossomwood’s desirability, though, always keeps the market moving and competitive.”
