Racing spectacle and regional park 5 miles from downtown Indy
A black-and-white racing flag greets residents as they enter Eagledale under the Checkered Flag Railway Bridge. During Indy 500 weekend, residents get ready for the big event with driveway tailgate parties. When it's race time, they are close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which borders the neighborhood's west side. "During the month of May, that whole side of town is checkered flags and team flags," says Brad Polston, Realtor with Highgarden Real Estate. "That whole side of town takes a lot of pride in the race, so they're very expressive about it." During the rest of the year, residents may enjoy a more relaxing atmosphere at Riverside Regional Park, Indianapolis's second-largest park, which is located just east of the neighborhood.
The race is on at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Eagledale residents are in a prime location to participate in one of the country's biggest racing spectacles. On Memorial Day weekend, 200,000 spectators fill the stands at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Thirty-three competitors complete 200 laps around the oval track at speeds of over 230 miles per hour.

I grew up in Eagledale. The area has changed for the worst. There are still several elderly people living in the neighborhood. It was great living down the street from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The neighborhood is getting crime ridden.
