Ramblers and traditional brick homes for under $600,000
Towering oaks line the quiet neighborhood, which is filled with ranch-style homes and two-story brick traditionals, many of which have been remodeled. Most were built in the early 1960s and range from the low-$200,000s for a 1,200-square-foot three-bedroom to the low-$500,00s for a 2,000-square-foot four-bedroom. "A lot of older homes are being rehabbed, so the houses look a lot nicer, and the renovations are making the neighborhood more attractive," Ulloa says. "You get larger lots than you would in the surrounding areas, and the homes sell quickly.” Properties stay on the market for an average of 27 days, lower than the national average of 44 days. Most houses have multi-car garages, large, paved driveways and covered porches. Lot sizes average around 10,000 square feet, but some span over a quarter acre. Higher-priced homes have in-ground pools. Residents are within walking and biking distance of Luzon Park, two schools, restaurants and a historic museum.
