Established suburb surrounded by retail and local restaurants
Cedar Hill is a large suburb on Jacksonville's Westside, with older homes occupied by longtime residents. "The homes and yards are modestly sized, and there are a lot of long-term residents," says Ron Williams, a Westside Jacksonville resident and Realtor with Watson Realty Corp. "Many of them have been there for several decades." Most homes are older midcentury modern styles from the 20th century. However, there are a few houses built over the last 20 years. Home prices are comparatively low for the city. The community becomes busier along roadways like 103rd Street and Blanding Boulevard. These commercial routes are home to grocery stores, chain retailers and local businesses.

Midcentury ranch styles
Along the streets are ranch styles made of concrete blocks, front yards with palm trees and tall oaks with hanging moss. "It's an older established area on the west side," says Benjamin Reichenbach, local real estate agent at Complete Home Realty with over 30 years of experience. "The homes are in a good price range, which is a big draw." Midcentury modern ranches can sell between $100,000 and $375,000. Late 20th-century and two-story homes can range in price from $150,000 to $500,000. Some new subdivisions on the neighborhood's north side include Craftsman-style bungalows and new traditional homes ranging from $250,000 to $425,000.
