A suburb close to the coast and downtown Jacksonville
East Arlington is the suburban middle ground of Atlantic Beach's gentle surf and Jacksonville's active downtown. "It's the perfect balance," says local Realtor Andrew Young of United Real Estate Gallery. He grew up in East Arlington and recently bought a house 10 minutes from his childhood home. "It's great for people who want to be close to the beach but don't want to worry about the threat of flooding. It's also central to pretty much everything in Jacksonville." Plus, East Arlington is community-oriented, according to Young. "It's friendly, and the neighbors are good," Young says. "They keep an eye on your house." Housing prices are on par with those in Greater Jacksonville Area but still lower than those on the coast.
Beautiful scenery surrounds you throughout East Arlington.

Great location to the base, shopping and beaches. The safety is still not that great, the are at least one to two shootings a week.

There are a lot of mom-and-pop shops here. There is a large variety of stores so it is very easy to find almost everything you need. Businesses thrive in this city because the city is so large. Popular stores are Walmart, Target, Winn Dixie, Publix, Walgreens/CVS, many department stores, TJmaxx/Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less.

My overall area is somewhat a hit and miss. Certain parts are very appealing and upkept, while others lack the same appeal.
