Jerome is expanding newer buildings to the city’s north and east side. “The town is growing really fast because prices are lower than Twin Falls,” Dr. Jones says. “Twin Falls is the largest price in Magic Valley.” The median home price is $357,000, which is $10,000 less than Twin Falls. On the higher side of this price point are houses from the 2020s or large plots of land. These are craftsman ranch or two-story homes with multi-car garages. On the lower end of this price point are acre plots of land or older homes. “Most homes get views of the mountains and the snow-covered ones from the northeast and the south,” Dr. Jones says.

Various recreation options within a few hours
Jerome manages 15 parks and recreation opportunities. These parks vary from larger spaces with loads of amenities to small pocket parks with picnic benches. The Jerome Recreation Center is home to a playground and swimming pool. Shepherd’s Park has multiple tennis courts. North Park is just off Main Street and has a skate park. Golfers can tee up at the Jerome Country Club. Club members can access an 18-hole course, a restaurant and a pro shop. Thousand Springs State Park is 20 miles west. Hikers and bikers can try out the Kelton Trail, which used to be the travel route for mail, freight and passengers. Visitors can also participate in picnicking, bird watching and fishing.

The fair and Friday Night Lights
The Jerome County Fair is held in August. The five-day event features headline events like rodeos, concerts and motorsports, as well as a handful of classic carnival rides. Another hyped event is the Friday Night Lights Charity football games. Every August, the current Jerome High School football team and football alumni play a game with the first responders.
