Manatee sightings are rare, but they are native to the area and protected by federal and state governments. The neighborhood falls under Palm Beach County Public Schools, with pre-K through fifth grade attending Jerry Thomas Elementary School, rated B-plus on Niche. Independence Middle School is rated A-minus and offers a variety of programs that prepare students for post-secondary education and careers. Jupiter Community High, which allows students to continue these programs, is rated A.

Route 1 to the beach or Palm Tran to Palm Beach Gardens
Several main roads run through Jupiter River. Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95 run parallel to each other near here and are 2 miles away. Route 1 from the neighborhood leads directly to nearby beaches and the beaches of greater Palm Beach. The PalmTran, run by the county government, connects Jupiter River to the rest of the area via the Route 10 bus.
Increased flood risk in the neighborhood
Because of its proximity to waterways, many homes in Jupiter River are in FEMA flood zones. The local government recommends obtaining flood insurance. The nearest hospital is the Jupiter Medical Center, about 2 miles away.
