Leafy streets a short drive from Northland’s attractions
Residents of the suburban neighborhood of Glenhaven in Kansas City’s Northland region are just a few miles away from one of the largest amusement parks in the Midwest, praise-worthy food trucks and a park filled with whimsical animal sculptures. Located just off Interstate 35, the neighborhood’s connections to local highways also mean that the business and cultural hub of downtown Kansas City is a short drive away. “In Kansas City North, I think it’s ideal because it lies right between Kansas City, the airport, and the big highways, and we have three top education systems in the area. That really encompasses our area,” says Dan Vick, the owner of Dan Vick Team through Re/Max and a lifelong Kansas City resident.

Glenhaven homes of all styles sell fast
Glenhaven’s tree-shaded streets are primarily lined with ranch-style homes and split levels, with the occasional Colonial Revival property. Many of these houses were built between the 1950s and 1980s, but some new constructions built after 2015 have begun to come on the market. These new properties are usually located in designed subdivisions like Carriage Hills Estates or Brighton Woods. Glenhaven’s homes have a median price of $250,000, nearly in line with the Kansas City average of $245,000. There is a low inventory of homes available, so future buyers will want to act fast. “We have a tremendous shortage of inventory. Our inventory is down 23% from this time last year, so the good houses are getting snapped up,” Vick says.
There are the occasional Colonial Revival style homes in this area as well.
