Prairie Point-Wildberry is a Northland Kansas City neighborhood, home to the mixed-use development Zona Rosa Town Center that opened in 2004. The open-air mall has multiple shops, restaurants, office space and housing and puts homebuyers near a venue that host numerous annual events. The community, which offers a range of housing options from apartments to new builds, is within 10 miles from St. Luke’s North Hospital-Barry Road and the Kansas City International Airport. “You definitely have a good mix of people in the neighborhood,” says Jaylenn Wong, a Realtor with Platinum Realty. “Zona Rosa is a very trendy outdoor mall that’s a big draw, especially during the holidays when it’s all lit up.”

Split-levels to new build Craftsmans with some entry-level pricing
Prairie Point-Wildberry has a diverse selection of homes. The predominant style is split-level homes from the 1990s to 2010s, but there is a collection of newly build Craftsmans that have started to be developed in the community. Houses are separated from wide neighborhood streets by their front yards, accented by trees and shrubbery, driveways and well-maintained sidewalks. Prices range from around $300,000 to $700,000, giving access to various buyers. “You could easily find a starter home here,” Wong says. “Homes in the $300,000s can be found above Missouri Route 152, so that’s a great place to look for a starter home, and then below 152, you can find move-up homes in the $500,000s and up, including some new builds.”
Most homes in Prairie Point-Wildberry sit on quarter acre lots with mature trees.

Park Hill High School ranks as the best high school in the county on Niche
Children can attend Renner Elementary School, which receives a B-plus from Niche, while Congress Middle School gets an A-minus. Park Hill High School scores an A and Niche ranks it as the best public high school in Platte County. The high school offers robust varsity sports program, and its wrestling, volleyball, football and cheerleading teams have won multiple state championships.

Zona Rosa is a mixed-use development that opened in 2004 on Dixon Avenue in the neighborhood. The open-air mall has national brands like Barnes and Noble and Dick’s Sporting Goods, restaurants such as 54th Street Restaurant and Drafthouse, office space and a handful of residential units. “You’re only a few steps to all the entertainment Zona Rosa has to offer,” William Chirpich of Platinum Realty says. There are also nearby big-box stores like Walmart and a national chain grocer Hy-Vee on Highway 29.

Amity Woods Nature Park and Wildberry Park offer acres of green space
Amity Woods Nature Park is 48 acres and features a concrete path for walking and biking and several looped side trails. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and native plants. “It’s a really cool park with a nice stream and a great place to go for nature walks,” Wong says. Wildberry Park is a smaller and more tucked-away, with a playground and picnic area. The 274-acre Weatherby Lake, just 5 miles to the south, for fishing, boating and swimming.

Santa kicks of holiday season at Zona Rosa at lighting ceremony
Zona Rosa hosts events throughout the year, including the Holiday Lighting Ceremony. Held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Santa flips the switch to illuminate the mall. The event includes live musical performances, food trucks and ice skating under the lights.
