Shopping and dining options nearby include hidden K.C. barbecue gem

Though most groceries, retail and shopping require a trip outside of the neighborhood, they’re all within a few miles. LC’s Bar-B-Q is what some locals consider one of the city’s hidden secrets, and it’s just east of the neighborhood off Blue Parkway. “LC’s is one of the city’s best barbecue spots,” says Trip Dunman, a local Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Partners who’s been selling homes in the area for eight years. “You wouldn’t expect it. The barbecue is out of this world,” he says. Groceries are less than 3 miles away at Aldi on Troost Avenue. Locals can walk to the Country View Market for quick runs to get convenience items in the neighborhood. Two miles to the west, the New Landing Mall features mom-and-pop shops and national retailers such as Foot Locker.
