Go downtown or catch a Kansas City Chiefs game
Vineyard residents live less than 10 minutes from Arrowhead Stadium where the Kansas City Chiefs play and less than half an hour from downtown Kansas City. The area has a quiet atmosphere because it sits far enough away from the busy areas, but residents don't have to travel far to join the action. "Vineyard is central to a lot of Kansas City attractions," says Marline Brown, Realtor for Murrell Homes. "Drive times are very short when traveling to entertainment and surrounding areas like Raytown and Independence." Residents who want to get some fresh air visit Vineyard Park or get a day pass for the Mary Williams-Neal Community Center for indoor fun.

Driving or taking the bus to downtown KC
Those who need to commute to downtown Kansas City can connect onto U.S. Highway 71 or Interstate 70. The downtown area sits 4 miles away, so commuters can expect to spend roughly 30 minutes on the road. RideKC buses also give locals a route downtown with stops throughout the neighborhood and along Emanual Cleaver II Boulevard. Travelers can also go just north of downtown Kansas City to catch a flight at the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport.
1950s bungalows and ranch homes
Homes here can sell for anywhere from $100,000 to $250,000, with most options being 1950s ranch homes, bungalows and split-level houses. “Investors do a lot of work out there because they can buy homes for a low price, flip them and sell them,” says Paul Galbrecht, the owner, CEO and Realtor of Paul Michael Homes, who has sold homes throughout Kansas City. “But I’ve seen people who have lived for a long time, just moved there or bought an investment home.” Most residents have attached garages, paved driveways and moderate yards. The streets are slim in the neighborhood, so most have sidewalks on one side of the road or none at all. Future residents can easily find homes with three bedrooms and over 1,000 square feet of space. The St. Michael’s Veterans Center Apartments also sits in the neighborhood along Chelsea Circle.

Long-lasting churches and new changes
Five churches rest in the immediate area. The Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church has been in the community since 1916. Kansas City has been undergoing major redevelopments for the past 15 years. Galbrecht says the city may vote to build a better stadium for the Kansas City Royals downtown, but Vineyard residents will still have a short drive to see their team play.
