Comfortable and convenient suburban living

Part of Kenosha’s northern suburbs, St. Peter’s is a small residential pocket with a namesake park, church and school. A mix of established homes and newly constructed subdivisions offer privacy without pulling too far away from the amenities of living in a waterfront city. “It’s close to two universities and several parks, and you’re just a few miles from the shores of Lake Michigan,” says Laura Woltersdorf, a Realtor with RE/MAX Advantage Realty. “The northside is a bit sleepier, but you’re only 10 minutes from downtown.”

Mix of established homes and new builds in St. Peter's

The houses of St. Peter’s are varied. Colonials, modern traditional homes and new builds are tucked away in secluded cul-de-sac subdivisions lined with sidewalks. “Even with all the new construction, it’s still a very quiet, peaceful place to be,” says Stephanie Kaiser, a real estate agent with Big Block Midwest. “You always see someone out walking their dogs or with their family.” Yards around these homes are uniform and spacious, enhanced by sparsely scattered trees and manicured gardens. Along the neighborhood’s main thoroughfares are established ranch homes and farmhouses offering much more space between their neighbors, with some sitting on as many as 6 acres. Potential buyers can expect to pay anywhere from $200,000 to $685,000, with homes on the upper end being new construction with open floor plans.

Sledding at St. Peter's Park

The neighborhood’s namesake park keeps residents close to nature. The wide-open, grassy green space is anchored by a small pond used for fishing. During the winter months, it becomes a popular site for sledding. The city’s first accessible playground sits just 2 miles east of St. Peter’s. The Dream Playground at Petzke Park “is newer to the area, and there was a lot of community involvement to make it a reality,” Kaiser says. “Nonprofits donated to the park, and many of those people volunteered to build the playground. It’s a huge space, and it really is a dream for kids in the area.” The uniquely designed play space features Braille and sign language displays, musical instruments and a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round. It’s situated just off Lake Michigan's shores, lined with beaches and parks. Alford Park is the closest to St. Peter’s and is a hub for sunbathing, waterfront walks and bike rides along the Pike Bike Trail.
