Waterside, woodland setting for outdoor activities
Waterfront views, the outdoors and recreational activities are a part of life in Lake Fenwick. "The neighborhood has lots of undeveloped woodlands, making it a peaceful community that's great for folks who want to live close to nature," says Realtor Alex Bradshaw with MJRE Seattle. Bradshaw's YouTube channel has numerous videos about the pros and cons of the region.

Lake Fenwick Park for fishing, hiking and more
A highlight of the neighborhood is Lake Fenwick Park, found on the west side, named after the long, narrow lake, which is stocked with fish like rainbow trout and pumpkinseed sunfish. Fenwick Fishing, a fishing rod company, was established in the area in 1952. In 2018 and 2019, water quality testing revealed toxins in the lake due to algae overgrowth. Anyone using the lake can stay abreast of conditions, as a warning or closure will occur when necessary.
Lake Fenwick Park also has a public boat ramp and wooden dock, and many people take up kayaking, paddleboarding or other water-based activities. The park also has a play area, trails through the forest, a skate park, and an 18-hole disc golf course. There are more large public parks to the north, like Riverfront Park with the Riverbend Golf Complex, and Hogan Park at Russell Road. On the east side, there's Riverview Park and Foster Park. The Green River Trail stretches 19 miles from Duwamish Waterway in Tukwila to this part of Kent, passing by many parks and industrial areas on the way. There's a capital project to extend the trail through Auburn to Flaming Geyser State Park, which is about 20 miles outside of Lake Fenwick.
