With its network of walkable streets, it offers a convenient and peaceful respite from the bustle of downtown. “It’s right smack in the middle of Broadmoor’s school zone, very family-friendly, lots of kids running around,” says Robbie Breaux, Realtor with Real Broker. “A lot of people who have bought there grew up there, and they’ve come back.” Whether they’re coming home or seeing this Louisiana neighborhood for the first time, residents find Broadmoor has plenty to offer.

Ranch-style homes by the river
Most homes in Broadmoor date to the 1960s, ’70s or ’80s, as evidenced by the plethora of single-story ranch-style houses in the mix. There are some Colonial Revival-style houses and new builds blended in, particularly in the gated subdivisions along the river. Tree-lined streets and cul-de-sacs with paved sidewalks contribute to the sheltered vibe of the neighborhood, and most properties include driveways to keep parked cars from clogging up traffic.
