The Greater Landover area in Prince George’s County Maryland is an unincorporated region situated ten miles outside of Washington DC and located just south of the Town of Landover Hills. Bisected by both US Route 50 and the Maryland State Highway Route 704 (Martin Luther King Jr. Highway) Greater Landover encompasses the communities of Landover, Dodge Park, Palmer Park and Kentland.

Hosting concerts and sporting events throughout the year, there is rarely a dull moment at FedEx Field.

Students here attend Prince George’s County Public Schools like Dodge Park Elementary, Kenmoor Middle School and Fairmont Heights High School. A public magnet high school, Fairmont Heights serves over 900 students in grades 9 through 12 and received an overall ranking of ‘C’ from Niche.com. For those looking for alternative options this area also offers a variety of private institutions, like the Highland Park Christian Academy.

For all of your daily essentials, residents of Greater Landover will find plenty of commercial retailers, grocery stores and casual eateries along local thoroughfares. A quick trip down Route 202, will land you at the Landover Shopping Center which features an Aldi supermarket, a CVS drug store and a Ledo Pizza. Further north along Route 450, is the Grand Mart International Food store, a Value Village and an AMF Bowling alley. The Dodge Plaza Shopping Mall houses the local Post office.

For a change of pace, you can head over to the Woodmore Town Center where you’ll find big box retailers like Costco and a Wegmans grocery store, plus local staples like The Silver Diner. Drop a quarter in the jukebox and wait for your tune to play, while you chow down on some good comfort foods, and heck why not order a milkshake or two?

For those who commute, your proximity to the Landover Metro Station and the Orange Line, is your instant connection to downtown Washington DC. Plus with proximity to the MARC and Amtrak trains as well, you can be up or down the coast as needed.
