Country vibes with suburban convenience
With its horse pastures and pecan groves, San Ysidro offers a taste of country living only 3 miles from Downtown Las Cruces. Many of the area’s homes sit on several acres and use the land to keep livestock or grow food; there are also subdivisions with sidewalk-lined streets and cul-de-sacs. “What makes this area desirable is the agricultural land around it,” says Yvonne Rodriguez, a Realtor with Prosper Real Estate who’s sold homes in Las Cruces since 2001. “It feels like you're in a farming community.” Nearby houses of worship include San Ysidro Mission and Wellspring Church. Restaurants, parks and essentials are all within a 6-mile drive.
Many San Yisirdo residents enjoy farming and working on the land.
San Ysidro real estate is primarily made up of medium sized to large sized homes.

A mix of home styles in an agricultural area
“There are large-lot homes, agricultural properties, manufactured homes, ranch-style and adobe here,” says Rodriguez. Within subdivisions, 1990s ranch-style homes typically have three bedrooms and are set along sidewalk-lined streets, among open fields and orchards. These homes have attached garages and driveways large enough for a recreational vehicle, and sizes range from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet; prices range from $380,000 to $465,000, depending on square footage.
Ranch-style homes from the 1960s and ‘70s are set on multi-acre parcels along sidewalk-less country roads; many come with horse stables or mature pecan groves and can range from just over 1 acre to 7 acres. “Some properties near the Rio Grande River might also have water rights, which is priceless out here,” Rodriguez says. These homes range from 2,000 to 2,500 square feet and can cost between $320,000 and $725,000, depending on acreage. Manufactured homes are also available; these were built between the 1960s and early 2000s, and newer homes typically cost more, with prices ranging from $79,000 and $189,000.
San Yisirdo residents enjoy having livestock and horses in their large plots of land.
