Hidden Lakes is a new master-planned community in League City

Hidden Lakes is one of League City’s newer master-planned communities close to Trinity Bay and the popular Kemah Boardwalk. Homes in this neighborhood were mostly built during the late 2010s and include modern amenities and updated interiors. Much like the name implies, Hidden Lakes’ landscape is broken up by several small ponds, giving the community a more natural atmosphere. The neighborhood has proximity to several major thoroughfares, including Interstate 45 to the west, which travels up into Houston. Some of the most significant employers in the greater Houston area are the refineries and energy companies stretching from Texas City to Galena Park. “They’ve got everybody here – Chevron, Exxon – everyone is around here,” says Julio Garcia, a real estate agent with Innova Realty. Eight miles north of the neighborhood is the NASA John Space Center and Mission Control Center, a major United States hub for aerospace exploration and innovation. Hidden Lakes has an overall CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, significantly lower than the national average of 4.

New Traditional homes built in the late 2010s

New Traditional homes showcase a mix of brick and stone facades complemented by front-facing gables and arched entryways. Properties feature sizeable, well-maintained front lawns intercepted by paved driveways and attached garages. Yards are often meticulously landscaped with young trees, assorted plants and miscellaneous garden features. Single-family homes range from approximately $350,000 to $800,000; properties under 3,000 square feet typically cost less than $500,000. Listings in Hidden Lakes spend an average of 22 days on the market, less than half the national average time.

Students zoned for Clear Creek Independent School District

Hidden Lakes is zoned for the Clear Creek Independent School District (Clear Creek ISD), which receives an overall A rating from Niche. Prekindergarten through fifth-grade students can attend the A-rated Art and Pat Goforth Elementary School. Older students can head to Bayside Intermediate, rated A-minus, and later attend Clear Falls High School, an A-rated institution. Clear Falls offers over a dozen sports teams and an award-winning performing arts and theatre program. Two schools – Bayside Intermediate and Clear Falls High – are part of the Clear Creek ISD Education Village, a premier 144-acre academic campus that completes the K through 12 pipeline with Sandra Mossman Elementary. The purpose of the village is that all three academic institutions can share their resources and meet with each other at any given time. These shared resources and amenities include an Information Technology Lab, a Biotechnology Lab, a central courtyard and an amphitheater.

Recreation at Hidden Lakes Park and Pool

At the center of the neighborhood is the Hidden Lakes Park and Pool, the main recreational area for residents. Amenities here include a playground, splash pad and an outdoor swimming pool. Adjacent to the community is the 49-acre Lake Longhorn, which serves as a training lake for watersports like scuba diving, paddleboarding, kayaking and swimming. Less than 6 miles east of Hidden Lakes is Bayshore Park, a waterfront outdoor space along Trinity Bay with open lawn areas and a weekly farmer’s market hosted on Saturdays. For athletic facilities and other sporting amenities, the Clear Creek ISD Education Village has a football field, multiple baseball fields, a track and field course and two tennis court complexes. If people want to go to the beach, Garcia says they head south to Galveston Beach, also called Galveston Island.

League City Parkway lined with shopping and dining

Near the entrance to Hidden Lakes are several shopping and dining options that line League City Parkway, including two grocery stores – H-E-B and Kroger – as well as several fast food chains like Raising Cane’s, Starbucks and Chick-fil-A. This entrance area is also home to a few local restaurants, including Craft 96 Draught House and Kitchen, a gastropub with outdoor seating. Less than 4 miles away, Kemah Boardwalk is a popular theme park along the Gulf’s Trinity Bay waterfront. It encompasses 60 acres of land and includes various shopping, dining and entertainment options, including thrill rides. “It’s a really nice bayside carnival. They’ve got rides, restaurants and fresh shrimp from the Gulf,” Garcia says.

Getting around League City and the greater Houston area

Hidden Lakes is located near Interstate 45, a major thoroughfare that runs from Galveston up into downtown Houston, approximately 30 miles northwest. I-45 also connects with arterial roads in other Houston areas, such as Beltway 8 – also known as the Sam Houston Tollway – and Interstate 610 beltline. Directly east of the neighborhood is Highway 146, another busy thoroughfare that travels along the bayfront. The William P. Hobby Airport is a 21-mile drive away. Although smaller than the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, located 46 miles away, Hobby Airport still offers many regular domestic and international flights.
