Lexington favorites for leisure on the north end
McConnell Springs Park sits just north of Cardinal Valley. Known as the site where Lexington was first named in 1775, the 26-acre park gets its name from the artesian springs running through its wooded setting. For leisure, playground days and walking the dog, Valley Park sits near the northwest end of the neighborhood and features an enclosed asphalt speed soccer court, a paved walking trail, a skate park and murals at the playground. Preston’s Springs Park is also tucked into the area’s northwest corner. While only marked by a few small signs noting the local history and park use guidelines, residents can find a 15-acre preserve of the original forestry and streams that once characterized Lexington’s landscape.
