The area is home to Baptist Health Medical Center and Arkansas Heart Hospital.

“John Barrow has more bus stops than anywhere in the city, but most people drive,” Santos says. Rock Region Metro operates a bus service throughout the community and has stops on Kanis Road, West 36th Street and John Barrow Road. Residents travel 7 miles northeast to Downtown Little Rock via Interstate 630. Folks take Interstate 40 about 144 miles northeast to Memphis. Folks travel 11 ½ miles west of John Barrow to Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.
