Small-town feel just outside of the Mile High City
Located just outside Littleton’s historic downtown and 12 miles from Denver, the Goddard neighborhood gives residents a break from the urban surroundings in favor of a decidedly smaller, idyllic feel. “I like to joke that it’s basically the town of Mayberry from 'The Andy Griffith Show,'” says Wade Perry, real estate agent with the Perry Properties Group of eXp Realty and resident of Littleton for over 25 years. “You have some original homes from over 130 years ago, along with a ton of mom-and-pop places to eat or shop…it’s like something out of a Normal Rockwell painting.”
Established styles alongside new construction
Homes in the Goddard neighborhood reflect the town’s change over the years, with some dating back to the area’s founding. Most homes were built between the 1970s and 1980s – though newer developments have popped up where space allows over the past 10 years. “It runs the gamut, in terms of style,” says Perry. “You have older homes that try to stay as original as possible, along with really lovingly renovated homes and modern builds too.” Ranch style and other traditional single-floor homes are common and range from $550,000 to $900,000. Larger modern contemporary homes range from just under $1 million to $1.7 million. Townhouses are also available, with prices from $375,000 to $500,000. “It’s a competitive market, and there really isn’t a lot of availability,” says Perry. “I’ve known people who have lived here for 45 years – it’s the kind of place where people want to stay.”
Brick ranch homes are the most common housing style in Goddard.
Modern contemporary homes can be found on the western side of Goddard.

Vikings of Goddard Middle School
Students can begin at Leawood Elementary School, which earns a B-plus from Niche. From there, students can move on to A-rated Goddard Middle School. . This school is right in the middle of the neighborhood and gives it its name. Littleton itself has a long history of space technology, including building Viking rockets. As such the school is named after Robert Goddard, who is considered a father of modern rocketry. The school is known as the Vikings, a nod to the rockets and not the 10th-century Norsemen, and a miniature model rocket sits on campus. High schoolers can attend A-minus-rated Littleton High School which upgraded its football stadium in 2024. “The schools in Littleton are arguably the best in the entire Denver metro area,” says Perry. “You have people making the move just to be able to send their kids to the schools here.”
Leawood Elementary is an above average school in Littleton with a B+ on Niche.
Heritage High School is a highly rated school in Littleton with an A-minus on Niche.

Head to Red Rocks or the Chatfield Reservoir
Though Denver sits a dozen miles away, another advantage of life in Littleton is being closer to outdoor recreation – whether at the local parks or exploring the surrounding mountain paths. Residents can travel approximately five miles outside of the neighborhood to get to Red Rocks, home to hiking trails, summer concerts and various other ways to get out and active. “Saturday yoga at Red Rocks is a sight to behold,” says Perry. “It’s pretty much standing room only – people absolutely love doing it.” The Platte River Path can take walkers or cyclists all the way up Mile High Stadium in Denver, 15 miles away. Chatfield Reservoir is home to three bodies of water, the biggest of which is popular for motorboating – the smaller options, conversely, are often filled with kayaks and paddleboats. Wynetka Ponds is right in the neighborhood and offers trails, a dog park and a scenic pond.
Red Rocks Park & Ampitheatre in Morrison has miles of trails to hike or bike.

Plenty of mom-and-pop options
“You’ve got your usual chains and the like,” says Perry, about Littleton’s shopping and dining options. “But what really makes the downtown so special are all the mom-and-pop shops and unique places to eat – some of which have been here for decades.” The French bakery Born 2 Bake is about 2 miles away and is a popular spot for morning coffee and breakfast. Cencalli serves authentic Mexican cuisine, while the Social Bar & Lounge is a popular after work spot. “Inside Scoop is a must-visit,” says Perry. “I’ve had gelato in Rome, and it didn’t compare to the ice cream they serve right here in Littleton.” Residents can restock on groceries at the nearby King Soopers, or at the weekly farmers markets – held seasonally at the Aspen Grove and Southwest Mall lots.
The popular French bakery, Born 2 Bake, is about 2 miles from Goddard in downtown Littleton.
