Close to the city and the Rocky Mountains
Between Denver and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Ketring Park offers a suburban connection to nature just 12 miles outside the city. Close to Red Rocks and Littleton’s charming downtown Main Street, residents in Ketring Park have the amenities they need with the space to grow and breathe. “What draws people to this area is the combination of being more spread out than Denver and being close to the foothills,” says broker Kristin Harris from milehimodern and Denver resident.
Ranches from the 50s and 60s in Ketring Park
Ranch-style homes with four and five bedrooms are typical in Ketring Park, though styles can vary from traditional-looking brick homes to modern stuccos with low roofs. Many of these homes date back to the late 50s or early 60s. For two-story housing options, homebuyers can find split levels across Ketring Park. Two to three-bedroom townhouses in the southeastern portion of the neighborhood have a more Craftsman style with a mix of brick and siding.
Houses in Ketring Park range from $500,000 to over $1 million. Townhouses often start at $350,000 and range to over $500,000. “It’s a more affordable area of Denver, more than those closer to the city,” Harris says. The high demand for the Littleton area means homes can sell fast.

Fishing at Ketring Lake and hiking in the foothills
Ketring Park is 55 acres of open fields, wooded areas and walking trails. Avid anglers can fish at the 12-acre Ketring Lake, also called the Gallup Reservoir. On the property is the Littleton Museum, which has historical reenactors in time-appropriate dress tending to the farm and blacksmith shop on the property. It also has an arts portion with rotating exhibits. The Littleton World War II Memorial at the park honors the lives of the Littleton locals who served during the war. Right next door, Gallup Park offers a baseball diamond with stands, a scoreboard and four tennis courts. The botanical gardens provide scenic trails. Littles Creek Park has playground equipment designed to look like a ship with sails. Being at the base of the Rocky Mountains is a draw for many people moving and living in the area. “There’s a lot of people who like to bike into the foothills,” Harris says.
