Convenient, suburban living at the heart of Derby City
Get ready and get set to jockey for a house in Churchill Downs, the site of the world-famous Kentucky Derby. A front-runner among nearby Louisville communities, this Kentucky thoroughbred neighborhood outpaces the rest with a unique blend of relaxed and welcoming suburban vibes with the celebratory atmosphere of The Possibility City. Churchill Downs is also "An affordable neighborhood with easy access to I-64, the University of Louisville and downtown,” says Deborah Cox, Realtor with RE/MAX 100. Just four miles south of downtown, residents enjoy a Triple Crown of convenience in Churchill Downs: a central location, plenty of entertainment nearby, and shopping and dining right around the corner. And, as the city of Louisville continues to grow, so does Churchill Downs: "More and more hotels and restaurants are continuing to pop up and replace abandoned industrial buildings, bringing new business to the area and more infrastructure for the derby," says Thomas Bellingham, a local Realtor with Keller Williams Sports and Entertainment who has been selling homes throughout greater Louisville since 2016. With the iconic Churchill Downs horse-racing track right at its heart, Churchill Downs is a time-tested neighborhood where some of The Derby City's biggest traditions and celebrations are right out residents' front doors.
