Classic homes on sidewalk-lined streets

The neighborhood’s homes were built throughout the 1950s and 60s, with common styles including split levels, ranchers and brick Georgian Revivals and most houses feature front facing attached garages. Many of the roads that make up the community are lined with sidewalks and towering mature trees that provide the perfect amount of shade for an afternoon walk. Many houses have recently sold between $280,000 and $390,000. There’s also a selection of condos and apartment units throughout the community.

Madison Metropolitan Schools

Parents will likely enroll their children to start their education at Emerson Elementary School, part of the Madison Metropolitan School District with an A-minus Niche grade. After fifth grade, students will likely attend Sherman Middle School, which has a C-plus Niche grade and offers an English as a Second Language program. Madison East High is the last stop, boasting itself as the oldest public high school in the city after being established in 1922. The school has a 9-out-of-10 GreatSchools rating for student progress, offering a wealth of academic programs including Academic and Career Planning and College and Career Visits among others.

Brentwood and Warner parks

You can visit Brentwood Park in the southwestern corner of Brentwood Village where you can use the two-acre park’s basketball court, volleyball net, playground and green space. Just north of the neighborhood lies Warner Park, an expansive lakeside park frequented by locals and home to the Madison Mallards baseball stadium. Visitors can relax at the park’s sandy beach, go for a walk on the serene trails or take their furry friends out for some exercise at the off-leash dog park. Just west of the neighborhood is Maple Bluff Country Club where members can spend the afternoon on the well-maintained golf course or relax by the pool during the warmer months. The club’s 18-hole, par-71 course offers scenic lake views and manicured greens.

Second-hand shops and locally sourced groceries

Brentwood Village is conveniently located just minutes away from the Northside Town Center, which is home to the Northside Farmers’ Market which runs from during the summer and fall months. For an expansive organic selection and items in bulk, head to the Willy Street Co-op. There’s also a Goodwill filled with second-hand treasures. For a filling brisket meal head to Beef Butter BBQ or Smoky Jon’s.

Easy access to downtown

Residents can find public transportation through Metro Transit along North Sherman Avenue. The community is close to Interstate 90, and is close to several local roads that can get to downtown Madison which is only 4 miles away.
