Several community parks surround the neighborhood, such as Sewell Mill Park. The two playgrounds are popular with families, while the baseball fields are used for youth and club league games. Close to dining and retail on Cobb Parkway and festivals in Marietta Square

Powers Ferry Road, which cuts through the neighborhood, has gyms, a Kroger, pharmacies and restaurants like Tassa's Roti Shop, a Caribbean joint, and Williamson Brothers BBQ, which serves smokehouse classics. The community is about 3 miles from a central commercial area on Roswell Street and Cobb Parkway. ALDI, Walmart, Target, and other big box stores are here. Small businesses, car dealerships, and chain restaurants also line this intersection. About 5 miles south on Cobb Parkway, Cumberland Mall and Akers Mill Square offer more retail shops, big box stores and restaurants. It's also home to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, which hosts concerts, comedy shows, ballets and plays, and Truist Park, the Atlanta Braves stadium. Downtown Marietta is about 5 miles away and may be found at the area's wine bars, coffee shops, bistros and boutiques. Marietta Square also hosts events like Chalktoberfest and the annual Santa on the Square holiday celebration.

Easy access to I-75

Powers Park is close to Interstate 75, an express toll road that meets I-285, providing access to the rest of the greater Atlanta area. The community is about 15 miles from downtown and is fairly car-dependent, but the closest MARTA bus stops are along Delk Road. There's also a commuter bus that goes from the Marietta Transfer Center to downtown Atlanta. The closest medical center is Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, 7 miles away. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is 30 miles from Powers Park.
