Meadows Place, a small town in Fort Bend County, doesn't let its small size impact residents' quality of life. The public schools are highly ranked, there's annual community events like the Fourth of July Festival and Christmas Memorie, organizations like the Home & Garden Club and plenty of parks. In 2012, the town received an environmental award from Keep Texas Beautiful for its water reuse project. Meadows Place constructed a lake that is not only a centerpiece of town, but officials use it as the town's parks irrigation system. Meadows Place is roughly 20 miles northeast of Houston.

Home prices in Meadows Place range from $300,000 to nearly $400,000. Once you drive into the neighborhood, take the weaving roads and navigate the traffic circles to reach endless residential streets. No matter which one you turn on, you'll find manicured lawns with small gardens or front porches flanked by shaded sidewalks. It's common to see families walking to and from the town's elementary school during the school year. Residents primarily live in ranch-style houses but vary in size and design. While rows and rows of ranch-styles homes are found in Meadows Place, none look the same. You can find ones with brick facades, big windows flanked by shutters and others with vinyl siding and large white columns. Other housing styles are mixed in, like brick Cape Cods, modern farmhouses and split-levels.

The Fort Bend Independent School District serves Meadows Place. Local children can attend Meadows Elementary School, which has an overall B-plus rating from Niche, followed by Dulles Middle School, which has an overall A-minus rating from Niche. At the highly rated Dulles High School, students can apply to be a member of the Math & Science Academy. The academy courses are typically only available to learners once they enter college. The academy also requires students to complete 100 hours of community service (25 hours per year) and a graduation project. Niche recognizes Dulles High School in the top 75 of the best public schools in Texas and has awarded the school an overall A-plus rating.

There are over 12 acres of parks and greenery in Meadows Place. The Mark McGrath Municipal Park is the gem of the community. Mark McGrath Municipal Park offers outdoor recreation on land and water. There's baseball fields, a 1/2 mile jogging trail, another trail leading to the lake grounds, and an exercise station. For little ones, there's a splash pad and an outdoor classroom. Residents can also explore the butterfly garden, lend a helping hand at the community garden or go fishing from the park's floating dock. At the Meadow Place Community Center, residents can play tennis and baseball or get their steps in on the running track. Around the time of Memorial Day through Labor Day, Meadows Place residents can escape the Texas heat at the community center pool. Residents can also rent the community center and pool separately for parties, meetings, family gatherings and other private events. Other neighborhood parks include the Texas Direct Dog Park, Meadow Valley Park, Jim McDonald Park and Brighton Park. These parks have several amenities like playgrounds, pickleball courts and picnic tables. Immerse yourself with wildlife and nature at the local Discovery & Nature Center. Many indoor and outdoor hands-on activities include meeting animals like turtles, snakes, bunny rabbits and goats. There are also outdoor play structures, sandboxes and water tables.

When residents need to stock their fridges and pantries, several grocery stores and warehouse clubs are within close reach to find everything they might need for everyday life. There's Aldi, Sam's Club, a Walmart Supercenter and Sabzi Bazar, an Indian grocery store. For a bite out, several cultural and fast food restaurants exist in and around Meadows Place. There are local West African, Indian and Middle Eastern restaurants and chains like Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Denny's. Kelley's Country Cookin', is a local, family-owned chain with a location in Meadows Place. You can enjoy homemade hash browns made with Idaho potatoes.

Close to U.S. Route 59 and Interstate 69, Meadows Place residents can feasibly commute into downtown Houston for work and play, but there's plenty to do right at home in Meadows Place.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
