In Halfmoon, residents find small-town living with quick access to the city for commuting, which is only 17 miles away. “It’s close to Albany, making it a very convenient location,” says Melissa Cartier, Realtor and broker/owner of Cartier Real Estate Group, who has lived in the area for two decades and has been selling homes for 16 years. “Also, people flock here since taxes are lower compared to other areas in the state.”

Homes with large yards

The neighborhood offers contemporary and traditional-style homes with wooded backyards that have ample space for kids or pets to play. “There are many entry-level homes popular with first-time buyers, especially young families,” says Cartier. Many houses have well-maintained lawns and range from $400,000 to $650,000 in the area, depending on the number of bedrooms.
