Urban residential living in an active community

West Central Mesa is an urban residential neighborhood in Mesa, Arizona, about 16 miles east of Phoenix. Kenny Klaus, a Realtor with Keller Williams Integrity First who has worked in real estate for over 20 years, says Mesa has a very active community. Residents here are well-known for having a deep appreciation for culture and art and getting involved in the city’s many annual events, like the Mesa Arts Festival in December. West Central Mesa is home to Kleinman Park and Fiesta Sports Park, where locals practice sports on multi-use fields, baseball diamonds and courts for basketball, tennis and volleyball. The neighborhood is also bordered by Highway 60 for easy commuting to Phoenix. “When you think Arizona, you think cactus, desert, but that’s not the case here,” says Klaus. Compared to Arizona’s desert biome, Mesa is an urban city with sidewalk-lined streets and quick access to local shopping and dining at neighborhood retail plazas.

Finding the right home in West Central Mesa

“From apartment complexes to single-family homes, the homes are pretty diverse,” says Klaus. The average home price in West Central Mesa is about $310,000, which is lower than neighboring Dobson and Woodbridge Crossing, where the averages are $467,000 and $361,000, respectively. Homes typically range between $250,000 and $400,000. At the lower end, two-bedroom, late 20th-century townhouses are common; most are between 900 and 1,000 square feet and shaded in Earth tones inspired by Spanish Revival architecture. Starting around $310,000, mid- to late-century single-family, ranch-style homes are common in the neighborhood’s eastern half; these homes are typically newly renovated and go up to 1,500 square feet with four bedrooms. At the high end of the market, around $400,000 or more, ranch-style homes may include amenities like private pools, covered porches or patios and attached garages or carports.
