In the heart of Miami, the Devon-Aire neighborhood beckons with its distinctive charm and eclectic blend of architectural styles. This community is a mosaic of unique homes, town homes and an atmosphere that truly captures the essence of Miami living. The architectural canvas is a mesmerizing collage where you’ll find everything from contemporary marvels to timeless classics, terracotta villas to stone accents, traditional Floridian ranch-styles to stucco exteriors, tile roofs or modern designs with expansive windows. Many homes also feature screened-in porches and spacious backyards. And the real estate prices are as diverse as the architecture, with homes listed anywhere from $300,000 to $675,000.

Lucas Gomez is a broker with Met Real Estate Corp. who years ago moved his family to Devon-Aire because of the excellent schools. “I was very pleased with the schools,” says Gomez, who has since moved elsewhere. “Devon-Aire has several selling points, including the excellent schools, bigger lots and freeway access.’’ Gomez says the Devon-Aire community checks all of the boxes of the most-desired amenities in a neighborhood. “You see people out walking their dogs and when it’s not too hot, children are out playing the lawn.”

Schooling options for Devon-Aire residents include the highly rated Devon Aire K-8 Center, a public school recognized by Niche for its challenging academic program and a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports clubs and after-school programs. For high school, students can attend nearby Kendall’s Miami-Killian Senior High School, which is a public school that offers a wide range of academic programs as well as college prep and vocational training.

Devon-Aire is home to and near several parks and recreation facilities, including Devon-Aire Park, Kendall Breeze Park and Kendall Lakes Park. Devon-Aire Park and Devon-Aire Tot Lot offer serene escapes, perfect for picnics, leisurely strolls and playtime with the kids. Nature enthusiasts can't resist the allure of the lake. A serene oasis within the community, it offers picturesque views and a tranquil ambiance. Residents often enjoy leisurely walks by the lake and some lucky homeowners even have houses with waterfront views. The lake is a popular spot for fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

In addition to the parks, Devon-Aire residents also have access to the Kendall Ice Arena and the Kendall Village AMC 20 movie theater as well as the popular Super Wheels Center, a roller skating rink at Crystal Plaza. The retail plaza is a convenient shopping center located in the heart of Devon-Aire. It is home to a variety of stores and restaurants, including Publix, Walgreens, Chase Bank and Gusto’s Latin Food. Residents of Devon-Aire appreciate the convenience of having Crystal Plaza within walking distance of their homes. It's the perfect place to pick up groceries, run errands, or grab a bite to eat, especially at Gusto’s, which is known for its authentic Cuban cuisine. The restaurant has a casual and inviting atmosphere and makes Lechon asado (roasted pork) Arroz con pollo (chicken and rice), pescado frito (fried fish) and empanadas. It might be a good idea to make a reservation if you plan to visit during the weekend.

Devon-Aire residents also have access to quality healthcare at the nearby hospital, Baptist Hospital of Miami and convenient public transportation options make it easy for families to reach medical facilities when needed. The Miami-Dade Transit Metrorail has a station in Kendall, which is just a short drive from Devon Aire. The Metrorail serves Downtown Miami, Miami Beach and other parts of the county.

Devon-Aire offers a well-rounded experience with a spirited community that welcomes new residents.

“Whatever holiday is coming up, Devon-Aire makes sure the residents have an opportunity for community engagement,” says Gomez.
