They often find a home that meets or exceeds their must-haves,” Roach says.

Residents of the Islands of Doral subdivisions, including homeowners and renters, can join the neighborhood’s clubhouse on Northwest 112th Court. Locals can also rent one of the clubhouse’s outdoor or indoor gathering areas for private events. Doral Legacy Park sits on either side of Northwest 114th Avenue. Visitors can take advantage of the splash pad, sports fields and tennis courts in the park’s outdoor areas on the east side, while the 38,000-square-foot recreation center on the west side has space for indoor basketball, wellness and recreation programs and private events. A pedestrian bridge over 114th connects the two areas into one of the Islands of Doral area’s premier parks. Near the neighborhood’s east side, Doral Glades Park lets residents go fishing, kayaking or walk along the boardwalk of Roseate Spoonbill Lake. Nature lovers can also appreciate Florida wildlife at the park’s nature center and preserve.

Professional instructors bring diverse options such as swimming, karate, pilates and tennis classes to the clubhouse multiple times a week, with morning, afternoon and evening classes available to fit a variety of schedules. “Adults with kids love this neighborhood because there is so much to do. The city of Doral also sponsors a 5K run twice a year, and the Fourth of July and Halloween are huge events — a lot of pluses when you’re a parent,” Roach says.
