Wonder what it’s like to live like royalty in Miami? In Kings Point, you won’t find castles or dungeons, but you will find towers—high-rise luxury condominiums, to be exact. Home prices range from $250,000 for a unit in the Coastal Towers Condominiums all the way up to $9 million for a condo in the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Residences. Residents of these condos enjoy resort-style amenities like fitness centers, clubhouses, swimming pools, doormen and access to marinas. The Ritz-Carlton Residences provide an on-site spa and salon where residents can get pampered without leaving home. Gorgeous views of the Intracoastal Waterway are on offer, no matter which condo building you choose. The nautical lifestyle is also on the table, with boating, fishing and laying out by the ocean all popular pastimes.

Kids in the neighborhood attend David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center in Biscayne Bay, just west of Kings Point. The school has an overall Niche score of B. Teenagers attend Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School, home of the Sharks, with a Niche score of B-plus. Sun, sand and the ocean are right outside the front door in Kings Point, with miles of coastline stretching the length of the neighborhood. The pier at Sunny Isles Beach to the north offers local anglers a peaceful setting for fishing. Meanwhile, there are a plethora of activities on offer at Haulover Beach and its Haulover Park. Locals can grab a towel and a good novel and read with the backdrop of the ocean. Morning and evening walks are accompanied by the soft ebb and flow of the waves, caressing toes as residents stroll along the beach. Those who dare to go bare can head to the beach’s nude section, where swim trunks and tan lines are optional. The beach also has a dog-friendly section for those who wish to visit with their canine companions.

Of course, Haulover Park offers more than just sandy cheeks. There’s a skate park with colorfully painted ramps, a Bark Park, shaded picnic areas, bike rentals and food trucks on Tuesdays. Sitting in the park between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway is Bill Bird Marina, home to the largest charter and drift fishing fleet in South Florida. The marina has gated entry to 152 wet slips, accommodating vessels from 35 to 120 inches. The marina also features a dive boat, fuel dock, pump-out station, bait and tackle shops, boat launching ramps, jet-ski rentals, repairs and more.

RK Shopping Center sits just north of Kings Point, offering familiar brands like Marshalls and Starbucks Coffee, along with a Milam’s Market for groceries. There are excellent local spots in the area as well. The lovely Rose Café is covered wall-to-wall in floral décor and serves decadent, healthy meals like their smoked salmon caviar bomb or sweet mascarpone and fig toast. Breakfast and brunch at the café is always busy, with their scrambled-egg-stuffed croissants and French toasts being popular items. When locals want to branch out, they can browse designer labels at the Bal Harbour Shops or explore Oleta River State Park—both just a short drive away.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
