Vista Verde has undergone a positive transformation in the past decade or so, says Maria Carolina Campos, a local real estate adviser with Zurk Real Estate. In fact, the investment the community has made to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood caught Campos’s attention when she first sold homes in the area. “That was the thing that impacted me most,” she says. “The people who are buying houses are people who care about the houses. They paint them, they clean them. It immediately changed the face of the area.”

Many homes in Vista Verde house multigenerational families, so most people are looking for three to four bedrooms, a patio and enough space for more than two cars, Campos says. The range of home prices extends from around $250,000 to $550,000. The Vista Verde Townhouse complex features single-story, four-bedroom, two-bath houses built in the 1990s. Additional homes in this established neighborhood date back to the 1970s, such as two-story split-levels, and stand on single plots with small yards, decorative fencing and large patios in lieu of porches.

Mobility in Vista Verde largely depends on driving. Since most residents work outside the neighborhood, commuting is necessary, but proximity to Ronald Reagan Turnpike and state Route 823 makes it easy reach employers north and south. For those who require public transportation, there are stops for the Miami-Dade MetroBus that trace a loop around the neighborhood; the buses then take riders to MetroRail stations for faster access into Miami. Those who frequently use the metro system can buy monthly passes at a train station or via mobile app, and residents who earn a lower yearly income qualify for discounted rates.

Students in Vista Verde attend schools outside of the neighborhood but all within Miami-Dade County. Younger students could first attend Skyway Elementary, which earns a B rating from Niche. The school offers free after-school care until 6 p.m. for all students, and a student chess club that holds monthly tournaments. Carol City Middle School offers its students a choice to participate in 16 different clubs, including ultimate frisbee, and four educational academies focused on career preparation. Miami Carol City High School offers its students a unique Law Magnet Program, which partners with local law offices and law schools to host shadowing days, educational sessions and mock trials. Both the middle and high school earn C-plus ratings from Niche.

Residents take time to relax in Vista Verde Park, a large park central to the neighborhood that offers lots of green space for pick-up soccer games, and paved walking paths fit for tots in strollers and pups on a long walk. Plenty of mature trees provide welcomed shade on a hot day. When it’s time to pick up groceries and household essentials, Carol City sits less than a 15-minute drive south. Here you can find national retailers, such as Walmart and Publix, as well as national restaurant chains, including Chili’s and Chik-Fil-A. Sports fans take advantage of Vista Verde’s prime location close to Hard Rock Stadium, where you can see both Dolphins’ and Hurricanes’ football games, professional tennis at the Miami Open, Formula One racing and international soccer with the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
