Homes on at least an acre in Milton
In Milton, dark picket fences enclose multi-acre properties’ well-maintained green lawns, with long driveways leading to hidden homes. Zoning rules require residents to build on at least an acre so the area, which prides itself on feeling rural but not remote, doesn’t feel overcrowded. It’s common to purchase multiple acres and build on it. Buyers can find homes starting in the high $800,000 range; however, many are luxury properties with pools, open floor plans, and high ceilings, so prices tend to reach the multi-millions. Modern construction draws from various architectural styles, from Georgian to Victorian to farmhouse.
Homes in Milton can be arranged like a suburban neighborhood or spread out in rural areas.

Milton City Park and Preserve and other outdoor spaces
Milton City Park and Preserve is divided into active and passive sections. The former includes recreational programs and facilities, like The Milton City Pool, where families flock in the summer, tennis courts and a clubhouse with rec rooms and event space. The park's passive portion takes up most of the park – 130 of its 137 total acres. With a dedication to preserving green space, there won’t be any development to this portion of the park aside from the existing trail loops. Birmingham Park is another great spot for passive recreation, with nine trails through dense pine and oak trees. Leon says, “Milton is known as an equestrian community,” and the park is not just open to hikers and bikers, but equestrians. Bell Memorial Park features four baseball fields, two multi-purpose turf fields, a playground, pavilions and picnic areas. It’s the setting for various sports leagues and is home to the Mark Law Arboretum. The area also has two golf courses in Milton: Atlanta National Golf Club and The Manor Gold & Country Club.
