Mid-century single-family houses, condos and townhouses

Maple Tree is a triangular neighborhood at the intersection of Fond du Lac Freeway and Mill Road, just less than 10 miles northwest of downtown Milwaukee. A small collection of single-family homes can be found in its southwest section, mainly split-level and ranch-style houses from the mid-to-late 20th century. Two-story, side-by-side duplexes line several streets, while more town house-style units are available at the Royal Orleans Condos. This development features over 100 two-story, three-bedroom homes from the 1970s, with prices starting around $60,000 and tapering off around $100,000. “You can live in something like that cheaper when buying than you can by renting,” said Realtor Robert Yeager, who sells houses in the neighborhood with Realty Executives Elite. “Plus, the homes are well-maintained.” Single-family homes start in the high $100,000s, which might get someone a three-bedroom split-level house needing light touchups. On the pricier end, a well-kept, four-bedroom house could reach the mid-$300,000s.
