Historic college in a growing neighborhood

Named for the nearby Spring Hill College, Alabama’s oldest institution of higher education, the College Park neighborhood is a place for residents looking for a more laidback lifestyle within Mobile. The nearby college injects the neighborhood with liveliness that keeps this residential area fresh and vibrant.

A popular neighborhood since 1900

College Park has been an enduringly popular area for years, which explains the eclectic mix of homes in the neighborhood. Homes sit on nicely sized lots, and well-maintained lawns create a pleasant streetscape. “They’re all very nice homes,” says Leder Stokes, a local Realtor who lives in the area. “It’s a very desirable place to live.” Homebuyers can find early 20th-century Craftsman homes, ‘70s ramblers, '90s Colonial Revivals and some Modern Traditional new builds. There are even a few open lots available, ready for a custom-built home. Prices vary in the neighborhood. Single-family homes are priced at a median of $397,500. While smaller homes in the area can start at a little over $100,000, large homes with renovated kitchens and sought-after amenities can clear the million-dollar price point.
