A rural community by scenic state parks
Among the pine forests of Washington, Brady is a community of countryside homes in Grays Harbor County. Daily snapshots include neighbors tending to their farms, horses grazing on acres of land and pine siskins trilling in the boughs of evergreens. The population of less than 1,000 people lives in peace and quiet, with ample space to themselves. Harley Greninger, a broker with Premier Realty Grays Harbor with over three decades of experience in the area, says that people move to Brady because it’s close to Ocean Shores Beach and Grayland Beach but still in commuting distance to Olympia. “And it’s more of a rural community — people wanting to get out of the big city move there,” he says. The small town of Montesano, located 5 miles west, is a big part of living in Brady. Residents rely on its grocery store, school system and access to the natural splendor of Lake Sylvia State Park. Brady is between two cities: 35 miles west of Olympia and 15 miles east of Aberdeen.
