A spring concert series occurs at Cloverdale Bottom Park, at its old gazebo. Large oak trees provide a scenic canopy for the park. Locals picnic underneath their shade. When locals are looking for a hearty breakfast with a side of college football, Greg's Breakfast Bar is the spot. Owner Greg Whetstone has an official SEC helmet from every team, and he's always excited to talk football with patrons. "The restaurants around here are really one-of-a-kind," says Nickel. "Most are locally owned and really cherished by the folks who live around here." This is the type of neighborhood where regulars feel like family and are treated accordingly. Delicious deli staples are on the menu at 5 Points Deli and Grill, along with beer and live music. Locals flock to Leroy for cocktails, a quirky local bar with great bartenders and great vibes. Patrons can enjoy a beverage on the patio or enjoy the energy inside as the bar fills with locals looking to unwind. Arguably the best spot for live music is 1048 Jazz and Blues, which has shows every single night. For over 15 years, they've entertained the community with everything from jazz and blues to punk and reggae.
Cloverdale/Idlewild holiday celebrations
Residents often come together for community events like a spring concert series in the park, parades, cook-offs and more. On Independence Day, the neighborhood is decked out in red, white and blue flags, decorated bicycles and pets in patriotic costumes for the annual 4th of July parade. Neighbors gather for a community Thanksgiving potluck each year. The streets echo with the festive sound of Christmas caroling on December 23, after which residents enjoy a community bonfire accompanied by cups of cocoa topped with marshmallows. A favorite event is the annual Cloverdale Chili Cook-off, where neighbors can sample each other's chili recipes and listen to live music.

Education from kindergarten to college
Children attend Montgomery County Schools, including Forest Avenue Elementary School, which received a B+ from Niche, before moving onto Bellingrath Junior High after 5th grade graduation. Bellingrath, is a charter school that garnered a D+ from Niche. Lanier Senior High School has a student-teacher ratio of 20 to 1 and received a C- on Niche. Samford Stadium is where the Huntingdon Hawks football and lacrosse teams play. It accommodates 2,500 sports enthusiasts. Its Charles Lee Field was named in honor of Charles Lee, a 1962 Huntingdon graduate who became a Hall of Fame football coach at Jefferson Davis High School and was the director of Jackson Hospital Sports Medicine. Local thespians have a home in the Cloverdale Playhouse. The volunteer-driven performing arts center entertains the community with theatrical productions, a regular music series and educational programs.
