A tranquil Naperville suburb
Ashwood Park’s distinguished million-dollar homes with lush landscaping and tight-knit community feel appeal to Naperville newcomers. “The neighborhood has two pools and a huge clubhouse that’s open throughout the year with a fitness center, and you can rent it for parties and events,” says Naveena Ganesan, a broker with John Greene Realtor. “They have a newsletter to get the community involved in city events and keep them informed. It’s rare to find that kind of active community in Naperville. There are basketball and tennis courts and many other places where you can meet your neighbors and have friends for life.”
Ashwood Park home prices start at around the $1 million mark and go up to $1.9 million.

Elegant million-dollar homes in Ashwood Park
While most houses in Ashwood Park have brick facades, each has distinctive exterior features reminiscent of Queen Anne and Tudor homes. “Many of these homes were built within the last 10 to 15 years,” says Kristen Jungles, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Infinity. “They’re mostly over four bedrooms and at least 3,500 square feet.” Price points rarely fall below $1 million, with some selling for $1.9 million. A common addition to many of the properties is two-to-three-car garages. Front lawns are roomy and have been landscaped with neatly trimmed bushes, colorful gardens and small trees. The neighborhood’s streets are rounded and provide residents with a walkable landscape. “There are walking and biking baths at the back side of the community, but the neighborhood is large enough that you could walk around it for several miles,” Ganesan says.

Get to know your neighbors at Ashwood Club
Despite not being a planned community, Ashwood Park offers residents a central social and recreational hub. Ashwood Club is where “neighbors get to know each other, and residents really get a sense of community. The facility is gorgeous, too,” Jungles says. Locals take advantage of the basketball and tennis courts, outdoor pools and fitness center. Walking out the back doors of the clubhouse is Ashwood Park, which features a picnic area and a playground. Commissioners Park sits adjacent to the neighborhood and offers another option for residents to get outdoors. A small pond provides a prime spot for fishing. There are also ice rinks, a cricket field and miles of trails to explore.

Mix of local and chain eateries line Route 59
Multiple shopping and dining options are situated along Route 59, just east of Ashwood Park. “The economic development along that road has allowed it to include a variety of mom-and-pop shops and corporate chains,” Jungles says. Generous servings of rich butter chicken and garlic naan attract locals to Absolute BBQ, while those with a sweet tooth stop by Frosted Fig Bakery for cinnamon swirl pecan muffins. Spartan Ale House is a regional restaurant with another location in Aurora. TVs line the fully stocked bar, and the seats fill up quickly on Trivia Thursdays. The thoroughfare is also lined with numerous grocers, including an Amazon Fresh market, ALDI and Jewel-Osco, each less than 3.5 miles away.
