Mid-century split-level homes and townhouses

There are plenty of housing options for locals to choose from in Will-O-Way. Many houses in the area were built between the 1960s and 1980s, with some newer constructions scattered about. Home prices often range from $380,000 for three and four-bedroom ranch style and split-level homes to $700,000 for a larger Tudor or modern traditional home with an updated kitchen. Many homes are matched with decently sized front lawns with plenty of mature trees shading the neighborhood's curved streets. District 203

Many students in the Will-O-Way neighborhood can start their education at Elmwood Elementary School, which receives an A rating from Niche. Students can then move on to Lincoln Junior High School, which also receives an A rating, and finish their education at the A-plus rated Naperville Central High School. The high school offers an impressive 31 clubs and activities to join, from jazz band to the magic club and cooking club. Overall, “The school districts in Naperville are ranked within the top 10 in Illinois,” says Kelly Stetler, a broker with Compass who has served the area for over four years.

Will-O-Way Park and the DuPage River

In the heart of the neighborhood is Will-O-Way Park, which features a basketball court, baseball field, and playground. Plenty of green space exists between the fields for playing catch or running around. Will-O-Way Commons Park is on the neighborhood's east end on the DuPage River. The West Branch of the DuPage River Trail runs through the park, which is excellent for biking or running, and there’s also a playground. The trail ends at Firemen’s Memorial Park, to the south, which has a lighted memorial to honor Naperville’s firefighters, some beautiful flowers, and a nice bench where locals can rest and take in the view. “There are plenty of parks and trails, especially along the river, that residents really enjoy,” says Stetler.

Indian delights in Naperville

There’s a Jewel-Osco just south of the neighborhood for everyday grocery shopping. Patel Brothers, an Indian grocery store, is also in the neighborhood for additional shopping options. When residents want to eat out, they often head to Gemato’s Wood Pit BBQ, a counter-service Western-themed BBQ restaurant specializing in ribs smoked over an oak fire. For those in the mood for Indian, Honest is a vegetarian spot serving up an elaborate menu of authentic Indian street food in a fine dining setting. Additional shopping at big stores is all around the Fox Valley Mall, just 2 miles to the west of the neighborhood.

The convenience of West Ogden Avenue

The neighborhood's western border is lined by US Route 34, also known as West Ogden Avenue. This road is a shopping hub for residents and the main route for many commuters to start their 28-mile trip to downtown Chicago. O’Hare International Airport is 30 miles to the northeast of the neighborhood for trips farther than downtown. For medical care, Edward Hospital is 2 miles north from the neighborhood.

Golf and Saint Patrick’s Day

Just outside Silver Lake South is the biggest event in Naperville, the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The event has over 3,000 participants yearly, with over 10,000 residents stopping by to enjoy the family-friendly festivities. For year-round fun, the Springbrook Golf Course is just three miles to the south and has been Recognized by Golf Digest as one of the “Top Places to Play” in the US.
