Quiet residential neighborhood with integrated community atmopshere
Ozone Park stands out in its diversity. Whereas in other areas, specific communities tend to stay in separate sections, residents from different backgrounds living in this southwestern Queens neighborhood truly integrate. “On one block you can find Indian, West Indian, Chinese, Italian and Hispanic residents living side by side,” says Vishal Maraj, a broker with RE/MAX and over 20 years of expertise in the area. Prewar detached homes line quiet streets that offer a bit of suburban living in the city. In contrast, main thoroughfares Liberty Avenue and Cross Bay Boulevard are commercial districts with eclectic food and chain stores covering all necessities.

Historical rowhomes with ample green space
Three and four bedroom single family, detached and semi-detached rowhomes with private driveways and well maintained backyards are the norm. These colonial revival and Hi-Ranch properties range from $600,000 to $800,000, depending on size and condition. There are also a handful of multifamily homes with fully refurbished 1200-square-foot basement units, priced between $800,000 and $1.2 million. Renting out these separate spaces can be a great source of extra income. While a sprinkling of new townhome-style condos hover around the $500,000 mark, co-ops in a handful of prewar buildings go for $150,000 to $450,000, based on size.

Eclectic eateries and staple chain stores
Shopping plazas and restaurants are concentrated along Liberty Avenue, Cross Bay Boulevard and 101st Avenue. Though less commercial than nearby South Ozone Park and its Little Guyana business district, Ozone Park proper has a number of top-ranked eateries including decades-old Romeo Pizzeria; which hints at the neighborhood’s Italian American heritage. Legendary haunt Neir's Tavern has been around since 1829, long before the area was built up. Established more recently, Arepalicious is a go-to for Colombian-style arepas and empanadas. There are CTown Supermarkets spread throughout the neighborhood. The nearby Gateway Center shopping mall has over 48 big box stores covering all necessities.

Midtown in less than an hour
The intersection of Liberty and Woodhaven avenues is served by express buses and the express A Subway, both offering direct connections to the city. Residents can reach Midtown Manhattan in less than an hour. The Belt Parkway runs along the neighborhood’s southern edge and is a reliable link to points east and west. John F Kennedy Airport, North America’s busiest international entry point, is nearby. While it’s convenient for those who work at this major transportation hub, planes taking off and landing can be a nuisance when flight paths are routed over the neighborhood.

Ozone Park is a good neighborhood to live in. The people are friendly for the most part and it is pretty safe neighborhood. The houses and apartments are nice and affordable. I have lived in this neighborhood my entire life and have rarely ever had a negative experience. There is a variety of stores and places to eat. They also have a great selection of public schools. Transportation is convenient with the A train, Q8, Q24, Q53, Q21, Q52 and Q11 close by. Just like every neighborhood, it has its ups and downs but overall it is a good place to live

There is a lot of diversity within this community. Compared to most neighborhoods in New York, it is pretty safe. The downside is that there is a lot of people and it is a packed area.

Quiet area with friendly people. Crimes are not too high and the MTA Transits are nearby in small radius of each avenue.
