Indian Hills residents enjoy a slower-paced lifestyle
Just 5 miles from downtown North Little Rock, the Indian Hills neighborhood is green and serene. Kids biking along the quiet, residential streets and neighbors out for a morning stroll are common sights here. Downtime is often spent fishing at the local lakes, which offer a natural reprieve from the hustle of daily life. “Indian Hills is a wonderful, family-oriented neighborhood. There are lots of sidewalks, playgrounds and larger lots for families to enjoy. It’s consistently increasing in value because it’s an established neighborhood,” says Corina Jordan, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who grew up in the area. “We are just separated from Little Rock by the Arkansas River, but downtown North Little Rock has everything you need in the way of entertainment. There are great restaurants. We have a Saturday market with local vendors.”
Indian Hills offers homes at every price point
Homes in the area include a wide variety of options and price points, ranging from modest brick ranch homes and split-levels with two-car garages from the 1970s and ‘80s to modern mansions with stunning lake views. Home seekers can expect to find roomy lots of at least an eighth of an acre shadowed by a canopy of mature trees.
The average home costs around $250,000. A three-bedroom, two-bath may run in the low-$200,00s, while a sprawling Mediterranean-style estate with a heated pool could cost more than $1 million. “It’s a good market here,” Jordan says. “Typically, things sell within six weeks.”

Shop and dine along John F. Kennedy Boulevard
John F. Kennedy Boulevard serves as a commercial hub for the area. Grocery runs and other everyday needs can be met at Indian Hills Shopping Center, which hosts a Kroger, Dollar Tree and 10 Fitness. For a refreshing local treat, residents head to Andy’s Frozen Custard, which has been a mainstay since 1986 and serves everything from classic chocolate and vanilla to seasonal favorites such as Pumpkin Pie Concrete and Strawberry Shortcake Sundae.
Gadwall’s Grill, on North Hills Boulevard, has been a local favorite since 1989. The eatery’s award-winning club sandwich has been named the best sandwich in Arkansas by “People Magazine.”

Little Indian Lake Number 1 in the Indian Hills neighborhood.
Cast a line at Little Indian Lake
Little Indian Lake Number One and Little Indian Lake Number Two, on Edenwood Lane, are the go-to spots for fishing and kayaking. “It’s a very outdoorsy area,” Jordan says. “There are six lakes around here.”
Mary Ann Salmon Trail, on Kierre Drive, is popular among bikers, joggers and dog walkers alike. The 2-mile paved path runs along Five Mile Creek, which follows the neighborhood’s southern border. At the midway point patrons will discover a playground with swings and a picnic table. And with a quick 5-mile trip south on John F. Kennedy Boulevard, entertainment on a larger scale awaits in downtown North Little Rock.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
