About North Royalton, OH

Holding court in North Royalton

Located almost halfway between Akron and Cleveland is the small suburban city of North Royalton. Intersected by Interstate 80 and very close to Interstate 77, North Royalton is a city that has easy commute routes. This is important because, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city’s population of just under 31,000 has nearly a half-hour mean travel time to work. This makes North Royalton a suburban retreat for those who don’t mind commuting into the big city for work but want to enjoy the quiet and the safety of a smaller town. Residents will enjoy plenty of green space, as much of the city, especially in the south, features dense woodlands. Nearly 75% of residents own homes in North Royalton, which is comprised of a handful of neighborhoods with single-family homes sitting on quiet streets with little to no traffic.

Town Center District

The city of North Royalton is looking to create economic opportunities while maintaining a strong connection with current residents. One way to ensure both of these successes is through the proposed Town Center District, which would centralize restaurants and boutique shopping into one downtown area where community members could convene to shop and dine. There are also significant efforts being put into making the town more accessible to bicyclists and pedestrians. Another area of improvement that North Royalton has targeted is the city’s parks and recreation. Major upgrades are being done to Memorial Park and providing more natural grass areas for free play throughout the city.
