The neighborhood’s streetscapes are lined with common housing styles such as Mediterranean and Craftsman, and the homes date back to the 1920s and 1930s. Many homes display manicured lawns featuring trimmed bushes, colorful flora and the occasional palm tree. Other common housing features include shingled roofs, brightly painted exteriors and roomy front porches. Home prices range from $480,000 to $1.1 million, depending on the size and renovations. "The homes are on the affordable side for Oakland, and you're really close to the Fruitvale BART station. It's a great location for the price," says Realtor Lauren Quach of Compass Real Estate, who has been selling in the area for nearly five years.
