You can also enjoy a game of frisbee golf or volleyball. With its wide array of green space, you can host a picnic or outdoor birthday party.

For a weekend trip, The Oakland Zoo is only a few miles away and is home to over 850 native and exotic animals. During break, kids can participate in their ZooCamp program, where they spend a few days going on zoo tours, playing games, and getting a closer look at the animals of the zoo.

There are a few notable restaurants within Las Palmas. Ben’s Burgers is a neighborhood staple. Order the Golden Melt Cheese, which is a burger on sourdough that includes two cheeses, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise. If you aren’t interested in having a burger, they also have chicken wings, BBQ specials and milkshakes. For a quick treat, head to Happy Donuts. From red velvet to s’mores and French crullers, you can choose from an array of unique flavors. For groceries, residents can head to Foods Co.

With its locally-owned restaurants, quick access to parks and the Oakland Zoo, Las Palmas affords residents the opportunity to live in a small residential community that is walkable to a host of popular amenities in Oakland.
