Just north of there is the Salinas Community Park, which has a playground, a basketball court and a walking path that surrounds an ample green space. Just 2 miles northwest of Salinas Park is Floyd Gwin Park, which has basketball, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground, baseball fields and a pool for the summer months.

It’s a 17-mile drive from Nolan Acres. For groceries, there is a Lowe’s La Tienda, which is an 11-mile drive away.

Impressive football program at Permian High
Students in Nolan Acres are assigned to the Ector County Independent School District. Starting in kindergarten, children attend Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School, which earns a C grade from Niche. From there, students head to Nimitz Junior High School and Permian High School, both of which receive a C-plus grade from Niche. Permian High is known for its football program, which has won six Texas state titles.
