A town and country blend
Earlywine’s residential enclaves offer homebuyers a unique town-and-country blend that can be found throughout Oklahoma City’s southern suburbs. “Earlywine Park is a big draw to the area,” explains Christy Hawkins, a local real estate agent with Keller Williams Green Meadow. “It’s nice and big with plenty of walking trails.” Surrounding Mid-America Christian University, a small private institution in the neighborhood’s heart, Earlywine offers easy access to nearby highways lined with shopping and dining options.
Earlywine’s suburban brick architecture
The Rivendell addition of Earlywine, flanking the east side of South May Avenue, has grown rapidly since its establishment in 1989. The area’s traditional brick homes in the Tudor style are typically priced between $350,000 and $750,000, while the neighboring properties at Rivendell on the Lake hover closer to the $1 million mark. These luxury classical homes are situated beside towering Dallas architecture, rarely offering less than 3,000 square feet. Subdivisions west of South May Avenue and throughout Lakeridge may not provide much tree cover, but potential homebuyers can expect a two-car garage with a spacious driveway. For between $200,000 and $500,000, these 2,000-plus-square-foot homes offer a variety of stone and brick facades in earthy tones with matching brick mailboxes.
The third largest school district in Oklahoma
Students in Earlywine are zoned for Moore Public Schools, the third-largest district in Oklahoma. Earlywine Elementary enrolls prekindergarten through sixth-grade students, while Brink Junior High enrolls seventh and eighth grade. Both schools earn an A from Niche, and Brink Junior High is ranked second in the county for its academics, teachers and diversity. Westmoore High School, home of the Jaguars, earns an A-minus on Niche. Students are given laptops and granted access to online platforms like Canvas to facilitate technological proficiency.
OKC’s southern thoroughfares
Interstate 44 runs parallel to Earlywine, taking residents 8 miles north to Will Rogers World Airport and south into Newcastle. Prospective homebuyers should be mindful of the potential for noise since the neighborhood is located in the flight path of inbound and outbound air traffic. I-44 also connects to I-240, heading east toward Lake Stanley Draper, with various shopping and dining options along the way. From there, commuters can exit onto I-35 for a straight shot into Downtown OKC. The trip is approximately 16 miles from most Earlywine residences. The interstate also cuts through the heart of Moore, stretching south into Norman.
Chain retail, local haunts and unique spots
Crest Foods neighbors a Starbucks and Vietnamese Café on the corner of Southwest 104th Street and South May Avenue, convenient for residents in Earlywine’s northern subdivisions. Pub W (pronounced “Pub Dub”), a local haunt with classic American fare, sits across the street. Rivendell’s locals are less than a mile from the neighborhood Walmart off Southwest 134th Street, while Sprouts Farmers Market is just east along South Pennsylvania Avenue in western Moore. The Shops at Moore feature a variety of restaurants and chain retail outlets like Target, Kohl’s and Best Buy. Unique spots like the veteran-founded Black Rifle Coffee Company and greasy spoon Sunny Side Up occupy the same district, alongside a Costco Wholesale and Sam’s Club.
A neighborhood pool that feels like a waterpark
The 158-acre South Lakes Park is just across I-44, beckoning folks from Earlywine and surrounding neighborhoods to partake in its many amenities. Ample parking surrounds spacious mixed-use fields, a large playground, covered basketball courts and nearby fishing ponds. Closer to home, Earlywine Golf Club has been a central part of the community since 1975, featuring rolling hills of green with water hazards scattered throughout. The modernized clubhouse now features an expanded driving range, added in 2023. Across the way, Earlywine Park encompasses a large chunk of the neighborhood with its ball fields, tennis center, playground and mile-long walking path. The park’s family aquatic center has a beach-like, zero-depth entry alongside tumble buckets, slides and spray fountains, making the pool deck feel more like a waterpark. The YMCA is the area’s largest provider of childcare in the area, offering before and after-school programs.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
