Maintenance-free lakeside living in northwest Oklahoma City
Named after former Oklahoma City Mayor Robert Hefner, Hefner Village is a lakeside townhome community in northwest OKC. The neighborhood is within walking distance of Lake Hefner, a popular spot for all kinds of recreation from paddle boarding to boating. In addition to its proximity to the lake, the community is close to shopping centers and restaurants. Hefner Village also enjoys a hands-on homeowners association that takes care of the community's upkeep and maintenance. “The great thing about this neighborhood is the homeowners association,” says Realtor Andrew Doudney, with Engel & Volkers Oklahoma City. “With the HOA, literally everything is taken care of for you, which makes life so easy.”

The neighborhood’s proximity to the lapping shores of Lake Hefner is a major draw for buyers. “You’re literally right around the corner from Lake Hefner, so you can walk there or take a bicycle and ride around the lake,” Doudney says. Beyond boating and fishing, paved multi-use trails surround the lake. The neighborhood itself has two pools, a club house and tennis courts for residents. Stars and Stripes Park is a family favorite with a patriotic rocket-themed playground and a skate park on the lake’s southeast side. Lake Hefner Golf Club, with two public courses, is less than 3 miles away.

The community's location means easy access to stores and restaurants. “The Northwest Expressway being so close makes shopping super convenient. You’re not more than a few minutes away from anything you could need,” says Realtor Emilee Rankin with West and Main Homes. Restaurants line the eastern shore of Lake Hefner. Boaters can cross the lake and dock at restaurants like Redrock Canyon Grill, Louie’s Grill and Bar and Hefner Grill. Or residents can get there on two wheels instead of driving. “You can hop on a bike and ride around the lake and have a drink or dinner,” Doudney says. An active HOA in a townhouse community
Hefner Village consists of uniform, contemporary townhomes built in the 1980s.Residences are similar in shape and style and range from 975 square feet to 2,200 square feet, but measure between 1,200 square feet and 1,600 square feet. “These are mostly two-bedroom, one- or one-and-a-half-bath places, and they’re all pretty well-maintained on the inside,” Rankin says. Prices typically range from $125,000 to $200,000, rising in price with more space and renovations. Aside from the lake, a major draw for buyers is the hands-on HOA, which has $225 monthly dues. “Residents don’t have to do anything maintenance-wise. The HOA just takes care of everything from mowing the yard to making sure the roof is maintained and replaced when needed," adds Rankin. "The HOA also maintains the pool and the carport coverings for the cars. It's a really great neighborhood for people who want all those things taken care of for them so they don’t have to worry about it all.”
