Rural atmosphere in northeast OKC
In northeastern Oklahoma City, Rock Manor Estates harmonizes the convenience of the nearby city with peaceful overtones of the country. “Rock Manor Estates is a tiny neighborhood, but it’s in a great location,” says David Aita, a Realtor with Lime Realty. “Homes here are being updated left and right, and the area is really on the upswing. But what’s nice about Rock Manor, specifically, is that it’s like a rural neighborhood without actually being in the middle of nowhere. That unique atmosphere makes it special.” Situated roughly 4 miles from OKC’s Adventure District and about 5 miles from Midwest City, the neighborhood attracts buyers who want wide-open spaces and proximity to everyday essentials and entertainment.

Ranch-style and traditional homes on larger lots
The neighborhood has a rural vibe with clusters of homes spread out between patches of forested land and grassy pastures. Large lots, some an acre or more, are the hallmark of the area. There’s also a handful of residential pockets where homes sit closer together on smaller lots. Rock Manor Estates draws buyers of all kinds, most looking for acreage properties without sacrificing proximity to Oklahoma City. Midcentury ranch-style homes built in the 1960s through the ’80s are most common, but there are a handful of homes built in the early 2000s with traditional architecture. Homes are typically priced between $215,000 and $325,000, increasing in price with updates and renovations. Traditional homes built in the early 2000s often cost more, ranging from $300,000 to $375,000.
In Rock Manor Estates, the lots are much larger than a typical Oklahoma City lot.

Exciting experiences in the Adventure District
Some of Oklahoma City’s best entertainment destinations are in the Adventure District, only 4 miles away. While the OKC Zoo is known for its magnificent animals and beautiful botanical gardens, the zoo is also home to ZOObrew, the city’s largest outdoor beer festival. Now in its 16th year, the annual festival serves up tastings of beer, wine, specialty cocktails and mocktails, all in the name of conservation. Live science exhibits and hands-on activities draw learners of all ages to the 400,000-square-foot Science Museum Oklahoma, one of the largest science museums in the U.S. Remington Park features a lively horse racing track, casino, restaurant and bar. In the winter, Remington Park transforms into a festive wonderland with dazzling light displays and family-friendly activities. For a traditional playground and park experience closer to home, parents and guardians need only cross 23rd Street to get to Diggs Park, which has a playground, picnic tables, a basketball court, paved walking trails and open green space for pups to play. Golfers can hit the links at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club, down the road on 36th Street. The 18-hole course has year-round green fairways and has served the OKC community since 1923. A little more than 2 miles east down U.S. Route 62 is the SCIP recreational trail system, a favorite among walkers and mountain bikers for its 7 miles of trails over natural terrain.

Pelican’s Restaurant, a Midwest City institution, has been serving up seafood, steaks and prime rib for 40 years. For a more casual vibe, Monterey Jack’s Café Y Cantina specializes in a culinary combination of Mexican and American food in a rustic dining room. For something fast, locals turn to Tez Wingz, a local franchise with three locations in Midwest City, OKC and Norman. On Tuesdays, the restaurant has a weekly “lottery”: Diners with a receipt that matches any of the Powerball numbers can get their order for free or a $25 gift card.

About 7 miles to downtown OKC
Residents often choose Rock Manor for its secluded nature, so it’s no surprise that public transportation is limited.
