Bridging the border between western Oklahoma City and eastern Yukon, overlooking Lake Overholser from across the Kilpatrick Turnpike, Stonebridge West is highly sought-after for its location. “Not only are you close to the turnpike, but you’re also right off Route 66, which is great,” says Realtor Brack Mosshart. The born-and-raised Yukon local notes: “You’re surrounded by a lot of local coffee shops, local restaurants, several grocery stores, everything you could need nearby.” But it’s not just a popular location for its convenience. Mosshart explains: “Yukon is a great place to raise a family. The area is growing like crazy but the atmosphere here is still peaceful.”

Closely spaced, Traditional-style homes line these winding residential streets. Most were built in the 1980s and 1990s and lawns bask in the shade of trees as established as the homes they tower over. Mosshart notes that Stonebridge enjoys a vintage feel, similar to nearby neighborhoods. “The houses have good bones and they’ve been well-maintained in every sense of the phrase. The original character of the neighborhood has been kept up over the years,” he explains. For a typical 1980s-era Traditional-style home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an attached two-car garage, you can expect to pay around $270,000. The full spectrum of home prices here fluctuates in a tight range between $225,000 and $275,000, which Mosshart observes speaks to the overall cohesion of the community. “There aren’t any houses here that stick out as either the sore thumb or the very obvious, huge new build,” he says, adding that “down-to-earth” would be a perfect descriptor for the neighborhood.

Stonebridge West students attend schools in the highly sought-after Yukon Public Schools system. Youngsters and tweens between preschool and eighth grade go to Skyview Elementary, Lakeview Intermediate and Yukon Middle School, all three of which boast A grades from Niche. Teens then finish up their grade school careers at Yukon High School, which boasts a B Overall Niche Grade and a 7/10 GreatSchools Summary Rating. The alma mater of 22-time Academy of Country Music Awards-winner Garth Brooks, Yukon High earned a place on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the top 16 best high schools in the OKC metro in 2023.

Less than a mile from both Route 66 and the Kilpatrick Turnpike, Stonebridge West offers unquestionably easy access to the surrounding metro. But for your everyday groceries, you don’t need to stray far. Your local Walmart Neighborhood Market is less than 2 miles west down Rt. 66. And just 2 miles in the other direction, you’ll find the Lakeview Market, too, teeming with locally grown, seasonal foods. Mosshart observes that residents are spoiled for choice when it comes to nearby shopping and dining. “It seems like there are new grocery stores and restaurants popping up all the time,” he exclaims. On your way home from Lakeview Market, treat yourself to a coffee from Summer Moon, at the junction of Rt. 66 and the turnpike.

Stonebridge offers easy access to the great outdoors, too, just a mile west of Lake Overholser’s sparking waters. Per Mosshart, residents from around town flock to the lakefront for “all kinds of cool water sports like kayaking and fishing.” And just a mile and a half away, on the lake’s western banks, the sprawling Route 66 park and playground features everything from expansive climbing structures and a splash pad to picnic areas and paved multiuse trails.
